Prof. LU Yu is currently the Deputy Dean of the School of Educational Technology, Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University (BNU), where he also serves as the director of AI Lab at the advanced innovation center for future education (AICFE). He has published more than 100 academic papers in the prestigious venues, and serves as the associate editor for International Journal of Artificial Intelligence in Education (IJAIED), IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies (TLT) and multiple other top academic journals. He also serves as PC Co-Chair for International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Education (AIED 2025) and PC member/track chair for multiple international conferences (e.g., EDM, GCCCE, AAAI, ACL, EMNLP, IJCAI, ICCE). He has published three academic books and won the China New Development Award from Springer Nature.

Before joining BNU, Prof. LU Yu received the Ph.D. from National University of Singapore in computer engineering. He was a research scientist and principle investigator at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR, Singapore. His research interests mainly sit at the intersection field of artificial intelligence and education.
