Biography
CHO Dae Yeon is an Industry-Academic Cooperation Professor at Seoul National University, specializing in digital transformation and infrastructure innovation. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Seoul National University and has over 30 years of experience across academia, government, and industry.
He previously served as a senior expert and programme director at the Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement (KAIA), leading national R&D initiatives in smart cities, autonomous mobility, and digital infrastructure.
He has played a key role in establishing bilateral and multilateral partnerships with the U.K., Canada, and the E.U., including participation in Horizon Europe programmes.
Dr. CHO has led large-scale government programmes, including Korea’s National Strategic Smart City R&D Programme, delivering digital twin platforms and data-driven urban solutions and serves as an advisor to government committees.
Now, He is in charge of planning the Data Space national strategy in the field of Land, Infrastructure.
