Biography
LEE Sung-hoon serves as the Ambassador for Human Rights, Peace and Democracy of the Republic of Korea and is the Representative of the Asia Civil Society Partnership for SDGs (APSD). He is also Vice President of the Korean Association of Human Rights Studies and Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Civic Peace of Sungkonghoe University, the Master’s Program in Asian NGO Studies, and the Graduate School of International Studies at Ajou University.
With extensive experience in the fields of human rights, democracy, and civil society, he previously served as Executive Director of the Korea Human Rights Foundation (2010–2018), Director General of the Policy Bureau at the National Human Rights Commission of Korea (2008–2010), Secretary General of the Asian Forum for Human Rights and Development (FORUM-ASIA) in Bangkok (2005–2008), and Secretary General of ICMICA Pax Romana in Geneva (1997–2004).
