Biography

Jasmine Jawhar is currently an Assistant Director at the Southeast Asia Regional Centre for Counter-Terrorism (SEARCCT), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia. She holds a B.A. (Hons) Degree in International Relations from the University of Queensland, Australia (2010) and has a Certificate in Terrorism Studies from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland (2015). She published a monograph entitled Terrorists’ Use of the Internet: The Case of Daesh in December 2016 and also co-authored a monograph entitled The Lahad Datu Incursion and its Impact on Malaysia’s Security which was published in 2016. Currently, her areas of research include terrorists’ use of the Internet, online terrorist recruitment and security in Sabah’s eastern seaboard.
