Biography
Marie_Claude MACHON-HONORE is a retired Professor of English and Doctor in Anglophone studies. She researched “The role of education in the development of women in the Anglophone Caribbean in the 21st century” for her doctorate at the Sorbonne University, Paris, France. She is a graduate of the Institute of Gender and Development studies, UWI. She is BPW International main representative to UNESCO, focal point for CCNGO-Education 2030 and Member of the International BPW Task force on Women in STEM. She is a volunteer committed to Peace. She was elected Member of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee on behalf of BPW International by the 2016 ICNGO in charge of Communication and Education (2017-2018). She was elected Chair by the 2018 International Conference of NGOs and President of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee (2019-2020) in her own capacity and presented by BPW International. She was elected member of the NGO-UNESCO Liaison Committee on behalf of BPW International for the Europe and North America region seat (2021-2022). She is past Member of the Coordination Group of the CCNGO-Education 2030 on behalf of the Liaison Committee from 2017 to 2022 and past Member of BPWI UN Standing Committee & Lead for the Education & Advocacy Group (2021-2024).
