Biography

Ken ENGLAND is a career diplomat who has served with Canada’s foreign ministry since 1999. He assumed his current role as Director of the Northeast Asia Division in fall 2024, where he oversees Canada’s relations with Japan, South Korea and Mongolia. Prior to this, Ken was Director for Foreign Relations at Public Safety Canada during 2022-2024. Ken has previously held a mix of Executive and officer-level positions at GAC, both in various Geographic divisions (including focused on Japan and South Korea), and within GAC’s Intelligence Bureau. He served overseas most recently at Canada’s High Commission in London during 2018-2022 and has previously been posted to Washington, DC and New York City. As part of a foreign service family, Ken spent his youth in Austria, Egypt, Poland and France. He is married with five children.
