Since joining the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Jeju National University in 1966, he has been teaching courses such as Diplomacy, International Organizations, Public Diplomacy, and International Security. He currently serves as the Director of the Jeju Peace Institute, the Chair of the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy at Jeju National University, and the Deputy Director of the Jeju Center for Unification Education. Since 2019, he has served as the principal investigator of the University Capacity-Building Program for Public Diplomacy (sponsored by the Korea Foundation), and since 2023, of the Consular Human Resources Development Program (supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), contributing to the cultivation of diplomatic human resources in the Jeju region.
