Biography

Amb. JUNG Kihong graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in political science and diplomacy, and in 1994, passed the High Diplomatic Service Examination and began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). He has previously served in a number of diplomatic roles, including as the Second Secretary of the Korean Embassy in the Russian Federation; First Secretary of the Korean Embassy in the Argentine Republic; Consul of the Korean Consulate General in Chicago; director of the Eurasia Division, Counsellor of the Korean Mission to the European in Belgium; Director-General for European Affairs; government representative for OIF (Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie); Consul-General of the Korean Consulate General in Hamburg, Germany; and Executive Director for the Preparation of the Korea-Africa Summit. Since April 2025, Amb. Jung has overseen public diplomacy in general as Ambassador and Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy in MOFA.
