Biography

LEE Hee-Ok is a professor of department of political science and diplomacy at Sungkyunkwan University, and the director of the Sungkyun Institute of China Studies. His major is Chinese foreign policy, East Asian Order, and Chinese politics. He served as the president of the Association of Modern China Studies and the vice president of the Korean Political Science Association, and is currently working as a member of the Inter-Korean Relations Development Committee and vice president of the Korea-China Friendship Association. He has worked as a special professor at Nagoya University in Japan and a visiting scholar at the University of Washington. He edited more than 40 books, including <Search for China's New Socialism>, and wrote more than 80 academic papers in various languages. He received the NEAR Academic Award and the Chinese Book Special Contribution Award.
