BYUN Won Jung is team leader on Greening Education Partnership in the Section of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) at UNESCO Headquarters. As a part of her 20 year career in education for sustainable development, Won currently works as UNESCO’s team leader on climate change education and Action for Climate Empowerment, as well as the lead of the Secretariat of the ‘Greening Education Partnership’ which supports 96 member states and over 1600 members in strengthening synergies and collaboration on climate change and education globally. Before joining UNESCO, Won was Executive Director of Tongyeong Foundation for ESD and education centre called Sejahtera Forest in Republic of Korea, whose founding and development she oversaw since 2005. She also served, among others, as the coordinator of the UNU-affiliated Regional Centres of Expertise on ESD in the Asia Pacific region, being passionate about promoting ESD at local, national and global levels.
