Biography
PARK Daisy is a long-standing professional in sustainable tourism and international cooperation, with over two decades of experience across the Pacific Islands and Asia. Her work has supported initiatives that strengthen cultural diversity, community resilience, and sustainable development in 14 Pacific nations, including Fiji, Palau, and Samoa. As Project Director and a representative of the Pacific Tourism Organization (SPTO), she has managed nearly 30 international programs in collaboration with the Pacific Islands Forum, Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Mekong Institute, focusing on tourism, trade, and the creative economy. She previously served as Country Manager for Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and currently acts as Special Advisor to the President of Palau and Kazakh Tourism (JSC). Since 2022, she has led the Global Island Cultural Diversity Forum in partnership with Shinan County, Korea, highlighting indigenous island heritage and climate response. She also serves as Adjunct Professor of External Affairs at Chosun University and supports academic exchange programs with universities in Southeast Asia. Ms. PARK is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Seoul National University’s Graduate School of Environmental Studies. She holds a master’s degree in Area Studies from the Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS) at Seoul National University, and completed undergraduate studies in sociology and education at Ewha Womans University. Her work bridges culture, policy, and sustainability across regions.
