Biography

Ms. CHA Boyoung is the Director of the Cooperation and Networking Office at the International Information and Networking Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region under the auspices of UNESCO (ICHCAP). She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in folklore from Chung-Ang University in the Republic of Korea and holds a diploma in Women and Management from Birkbeck, University of London. With extensive experience in the field of cultural heritage, Ms. CHA previously served as a project officer at the Korea Heritage Agency and contributed to the establishment of ICHCAP in 2007. Since then, she has facilitated numerous ICH projects and sub-regional meetings across the Asia-Pacific region. Ms. CHA is an expert advisor to the Cultural Heritage Committee under the Korea Heritage Service. Her professional interests include living heritage and community resilience, youth involvement in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage, and cooperation with educational institutions. She is also a member of the Editorial Committee of the Korean Journal of Heritage: History & Science, published by the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage.
