Biography
Since beginning his diplomatic career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea (ROK MOFA) in 2002, Mr. RYU Hakseok has amassed over two decades of diverse and high-level experience in international relations. His distinguished service has spanned bilateral diplomacy, multilateral negotiations, and consular affairs, with notable postings at the Permanent Delegation to the OECD in Paris, the Embassy of Korea in Belarus, and the Consulate General in Los Angeles. These roles have equipped him with a deep understanding of global governance and cross-cultural engagement. In 2020-2021, he served as the Director of Energy and Scientific Affairs Division at the ROK MOFA. In 2021, Mr. RYU brought his diplomatic acumen to the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), where he has since played a central role in strengthening strategic partnerships and deepening institutional cooperation with the Korean government. As the current Director of Partnerships and Governance at GGGI, he leads efforts to expand the organization’s global network, foster impactful collaboration with member states and partners, and drive forward GGGI’s mission for sustainable, inclusive green growth.
