Biography
KIM Inhwan was born in 1962 in Jocheon, Jeju-do, the hometown of Samdasoo. He served as the first president of Jeju Knowledge Industry Promotion Agency (2002), a researcher at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (1996), a policy expert member of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Science, Technology, Information and Communication (1997), and the president of Goyang Industrial Promotion Agency (2011). He has field experience including SmartCity Malta (2007), Jeju Smart Grid Demonstration (2009), Goyang Smart City (2016), Seoul Smart City Special Zone (2018), Jeju Smart Green City (2021), Jeju Smart City Challenge MP (2022), Jeju Distributed Energy Working Group Director (2024), and Jeju Sustainable Development Committee Vice Chairman (2025). He is currently a researcher at Seoul National University's Sustainable Development Institute and a part-time professor in the Department of Urban Planning, Graduate School of Environmental Studies, Seoul National University. He is currently serving as Vice President of the Appropriate Technology Society (2025) and President of the National Survival Technology Research Association (2025). He is conducting lectures and research on regional innovation through digital transformation/energy transformation, such as climate crisis, carbon neutrality, and ESG.
