Biography
KIM Hun Joon is Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Korea University. He received his Ph.D. from University of Minnesota (2008) and worked as a visiting assistant professor at St. Olaf College, US as a research fellow and senior lecturer/senior research fellow at Griffith University, Australia. He has research interests in human rights and transitional justice. He is an author of The Massacres at Mt Halla: Sixty Years of Truth-Seeking in South Korea (Cornell University Press 2014) and an editor of Transitional Justice in the Asia Pacific (Cambridge University Press 2014). He has published widely in international relations journals (International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, Global Governance, Australian Journal of International Affairs), human rights and transitional justice journals (Human Rights Quarterly, International Journal of Transitional Justice, Journal of Human Rights Practices, Annual Review of Law and Social Science), peace studies journals (Journal of Peace Research, Peacebuilding, Asian Journal of Peacebuilding), and Asia-focused journals (Chinese Journal of International Politics, International Relations of the Asia Pacific). He is working on a book manuscript overviewing a long history of human rights violations and transitional justice in the Korean peninsula.
