Biography

Dr. CHO, Won Deuk is currently an Assistant Professor of Department of Indo-Pacific Studies at the Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS), Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA). He has also been a visiting professor teaching ASEAN regionalism and ASEAN & OCEANIA courses at Yonsei University since 2019. His main research topics consist of international relations of the Indo-Pacific region-esp. Southeast Asia and South Asia including India, and US policy in the Indo-Pacific. His recent policy papers include policy reports on security issues in the Southeast Asian region, India’s Indo-Pacific Strategy, international cooperation in the Mekong region, and so on. His academic articles were published in Defence and Peace Economics, Pacific Focus, and other Korean international relations journals including National Strategy, Journal of Northeast Asia Research, Korean Political Science Review, Journal of Peace and Unification, etc.
