Biography
Professor Kwang-Jun TSCHE, currently serving at the Law School of Kyung Hee University, is a legal scholar who has engaged in a wide range of academic and practical activities in the fields of human rights, transitional justice, and international cooperation. He previously served as a commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Korea, where he played a leading role in uncovering the truth about state violence and restoring the honor of its victims. He has also made continuous efforts to apply the German experience of transitional justice to Korean society. In particular, he proposed the establishment of a national-level foundation for transitional justice and led discussions on its institutionalization. He is also the son of the late Professor Chong-Kil TSCHE of Law School of Seoul National University, who was tortured to death by the Korean Central Intelligence Agency in 1973.
