Biography

Emeritus Prof. Dr. Younghwa KIM was born on February 24, 1954, in Busan, Korea, studied sociology in Korea and social policy in Germany, and served as a professor at Kyungpook National University for 32 years. After retirement, she contributed to the establishment of an emergency care system for the community in the urgent situation of COVID-19. She has been involved in academic societies, public organizations, and civil society activities in various fields such as gender issues, regional inequality, low birthrates, youth issues, and educational issues. She is currently organizing named the “Empathy and Solidarity” to find out how 60+ can be a good influence on society, opening a new era for Korean society.
