Sung Pil RYU born in April 1970 in Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, obtained his doctoral degree in Environmental Engineering from Jeju National University in 2006. After obtaining his Ph.D., he worked as a policy advisor for the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Council, and since June 2020, he has been serving as the Director of Policy Planning at Jeju Techno Park. During his tenure at the council and Jeju Technopark, he has been recognized for his contributions to various environmental issues and efforts towards carbon neutrality. In 2022, he was awarded a commendation plaque by the Chairman of the 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Commission and a commendation plaque by the Governor of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. In addition to strengthening the capabilities of local industries and businesses, he is also dedicated to discovering and nurturing new industries such as the space industry in the region.
