Biography
WU Ruijun, a professor at East China Normal University, has previously held positions such as Director of the Institute of Population Studies and Dean of the School of Social Development. Currently, she is the lead expert at the Shanghai Social Science Innovation Research Base (focusing on population structure and development trends in Shanghai), and also serves as the Vice Chair of the Professional Committee on Population and Social Demography of the China Population Association, and Vice President of the Shanghai Population Association.
She has been engaged in long-term research in areas such as China's population and sustainable development, international migration flows and return migration development. She has published over 100 academic papers and has conducted pioneering research in fields like fertility intentions and behavior, studies on return migration, and the impact of population changes on educational development. Her research achievements have earned her 15 provincial and higher-level scientific research awards in mainland China, including five first-place awards. She is an expert who is entitled to special grants from the National Council.
