Biography

Manisha has over 25 years of experience in economics and business. She is Principal of Sunstone Strategy Group. She sits on the Board of Trustees of the University of Florida College of Law, and the advisory board for the American Foreign Policy Council. She is a Senior Fellow at the Krach Institute for Tech Diplomacy at Purdue University.
Manisha received unanimous confirmation by the U.S. Senate to serve as Assistant Secretary for Economic and Business Affairs at the U.S. State Department. She is the only woman to ever hold this position. She was also nominated to be U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Prior to this, she was Deputy Chief Counsel to the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee. She was also a senior executive at J.P. Morgan Chase and practiced corporate international law at large multinational law firms.
She earned a B.A. with honors from the University of Miami and a J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law. She studied at the University of Leiden in The Netherlands and has an LL.M in International Legal Studies from the American University Washington College of Law.
