Biography
KIM, Chun Sig serves as the 19th President of Korea Institute for National Unification.
He received his BA in Political Science from Seoul National University and Ph.D. in North Korean Studies from University of North Korean Studies. He has been involved in public service for establishing and promoting unification policies as an expert on unification and North Korean issues. Before assuming his role at KINU, he served as Vice Minister for Ministry of Unification (2011-2013). He was also Forum Leader of Korean Council for Reconciliation and Cooperation (2016-2018), Chairman of The Unitiative (2017-2023). He received awards for his contribution to establishing national policy on unification and North Korea, which include Presidential Commendation (1992), Order of Service Merit Red Stripes (2001), and Kowoon Cultural Award (2009). His major publications include "Unified Nation Theoryā€¯ (2018) and more.
