JEONG Kwang-Joong
Biography
Kwang-Joong, JEONG is a Professor in the Teachers College at Jeju National University. His research interests are human geography, geography education, and social studies education, and he has conducted a wide range of research on Jeju Island. He received a bachelor's degree in geography education from Dongguk University, a master's degree in social studies education from the Graduate School of Tokyo Gakugei University, and a doctorate in geography from the Graduate School of Nihon University. He has published over 90 papers in domestic and international academic journals and participated in writing 50 books related to Jeju. His representative works include 『Jeju Stone Cultural Landscape Study』, 『Professor Jeong Gwang-joong's Jeju Concert』, 『Jeju's Lava Forest, and Gotjawal's Human Geography』. He served as the vice president of Jeju National University and dean of the College of Education, an editorial member of Jeju Ilbo and Jeju Sinbo, the local newspaper in Jeju, a member of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Cultural Heritage Committee, president of the Association of Korean Photo-Geographers, and president of the Society for Jeju Studies.
