Biography

KIM Hyun chul is a professor at the Graduate School of International Studies, Seoul National University. He has served as Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies since August 2022. From September 2016 to June 2017 and April 2019 to September 2022, he served as the Director of the Japan Institute at Seoul National University. Professor KIM has a B.S. and M.S. in Business Administration from Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Keio Business School. He was the recipient of the POSCO overseas study fellowship, and before returning to Korea in 2002, he taught as an assistant professor at Nagoya University of Commerce and associate professor at Tsukuba University in Japan. Since returning to Korea in 2002, Professor KIM served as an advisory professor for corporations such as Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor Company, SK Telecom, LG. From January 2021 to March 2022, he served as the chairman of the board of directors of the Korea Center for International Finance. He is the author of more than 40 books, including "Japan is Coming", "How to Break Through the Low Growth Era.”
