Dharmawan RONODIPURO

Biography

Dharmawan RONODIPURO started his career with the Government of Indonesia in 1985 as a diplomat and served at the Indonesian Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York. In 1999 he was appointed Director for Press & Media Affairs at the Secretariat to the President and spokesperson to President Aburrahman Wahid (Gus Dur). He entered the private sector briefly in 2001 as vice-president of the Jakarta office of APCO Worldwide. After the tragic events in New York in September 2001, he joined the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan as Chief of the External Liaison Unit in the Office of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General in 2002. Upon returning to Indonesia, he was appointed Special Assistant to the Head of the National Counter-terrorism Agency in 2003 until 2011. During the 2014 Indonesian presidential elections he was foreign policy advisor to Prabowo Subianto. More recently, from 2015 until 2022 Dharmawan Ronodipuro served as Senior Diplomatic Advisor to the Regional Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Indonesia and Timor-Leste.
