Biography

Albert Lin NEUMANN was an award-winning journalist and editor in Asia for many years and from 2015 to 2023, was the Managing Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia (AmCham). He has lived and worked in the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore. Prior to joining AmCham, he was a well-known writer, editor and communications consultant in Asia for over 30 years. He was the founding editor of the award-winning Jakarta Globe daily newspaper in Indonesia from 2008 to 2012. He was previously chief editor of the Joong Ang Daily in Seoul and was Executive Editor of the Hong Kong Standard during a time of tremendous growth and prestige for that newspaper. He has written reports and news articles from virtually every country in Asia. His career as a journalist and editor in Asia began in the Philippines as a radio correspondent for NBC News and others throughout the 1980s, including the 1986 downfall of Ferdinand Marcos and the rise of Corazon Aquino. He was also president of the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines.
