Biography

Jaeik AHN was born in March 1982 in Busan, South Korea, and is currently a researcher at the Northeast Asia History Foundation. His current research interests include modern Japanese history and East Asian diplomatic history. His major research works include "The Abolition of the Treaty of Commerce and Navigation Between the U.S. and Japan (1911) and a Shift of the Far Eastern Policy of the Department of State" (The Korean Journal of American History, 2022), "The Operation of System of the Constitution and the Imperial Household Law and Genro’s Political Activities: Focusing on the the Establishment of a Regent in Late Tasho Period" (Journal of Japanese History, 2022), and "The Beginning of Hull-Nomura talk - The preparation of U.S.-Japan appreciation document and the correspondence of U.S. Department of State" (Journal of Asian Historical Studies, 2021).
