The Hankyoreh Senior Reporter. He received his Ph.D. in political science from the Jeju National University Graduate School for his comparative research on the Greek Civil War and Jeju 4·3. He has been working for the Hankyoreh Newspaper since 1989. The main theme of his research is the study of the U.S. involvement in Jeju 4‧3 incident and finding the truth of the incident. Among his major works are The History of Tragedy and the Aftermath: Greece and Jeju - Greek Civil War and Jeju 4‧3, and U.S. (2014), American Involvement in the Jeju April 3 Incident (2020), 4‧3, 01031947-21091954, Out of the Long Silence (2023), etc.
