Biography

Han-jin JO is a professor of Disability Studies at the Graduate School of Daegu University. He founded the Korean Society for Disability Studies in 2015 and served as the first and second president, and served as a member of the Policy Coordination Committee for Persons with Disabilities under the Prime Minister for three years starting in 2019. Currently, he is an expert member of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea and the editor-in-chief of “Disability & Social Welfare” of the Korea Disabled People’s Development Institute. His recent major books include “Doing Disability Studies in Korea (2nd edition) (2023)”. His main areas of interest are disability studies and policies for persons with disabilities.
