Biography

Amb. Suk-in HONG graduated from Korea University with a degree in French literature, and in 1993, passed the High Diplomatic Service Examination and began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA). He served as First Secretary of the Korean Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Korean Mission to the European, Counsellor of the Korean Embassy in the Republic of Ghana, MOFA’s Director-General for Public Diplomacy and Cultural Affairs, Minister of the Korean Embassy in the United States of America, and Consul-General of the Korean Consulate General in Honolulu, Hawaii. Since July 2023, he has overseen public diplomacy in general as MOFA’s Ambassador and Deputy Minister for Public Diplomacy.
