Biography

Yong June KIM is the Dean of the Graduate School of China and a professor at the Business School of Sungkyunkwan University. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Business from Seoul National University, a Master's degree in Business from the University of Texas, and a Ph.D. in Marketing from Northwestern University.
He served as an assistant professor at the University of British Columbia in Canada and as a visiting professor at Shanghai Jiaotong University in China, TsingHua University in China, and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He also served as the Invited CEO of Samsung Open Tide China and as an outside director for companies such as LG Fashion, HanDok, and Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance, as well as an advisory professor for companies such as Samsung Electronics, Hyundai Motor, SK Telecom, Amorepacific, Doosan, and Maeil Dairy. He Served as the President of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration, the President of the Korean International Business Association, the President of the Korean Marketing Association, and the Editor-in-Chief of the Korean Business Review (KBR).
Recently, he has been researching the survival strategies of Korean companies in the fields of semiconductors, batteries, electric vehicles (EVs), and artificial intelligence (AI) under the U.S.-China economic war as a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C. Some of his major publications include, ”China Marketing (2023)”, “Modern Marketing (2020)”, "Time of Innovation (2016)”, "Marketing of Korea (2016)”, "New China Dream (2016)”, "Chinese Market Culture and Modern Corporate Culture (2016)”, "Internationalization of Korea (2014)”, and "Four Secrets of China's Leading Companies (2013).”
