Avishan BODJNOUD stands at the forefront of responsible AI, and data analytics as the Chief of the Information Management Unit at the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs-Department of Peace Operations. Her role as a co-lead in the Secretary-General's data strategy highlights her significant contributions and expertise.
With over thirteen years of experience leveraging data and emerging tech across the UN’s peace and security sector, Avishan has played pivotal roles in the Peacekeeping Situational Awareness Programme, Peacekeeping Evaluations, and the Peacekeeping Knowledge Management and Guidance Team. Additionally, her work at the Department of Safety and Security in managing global security databases exemplifies her adept use of data and technology to advance UN initiatives. Her efforts align seamlessly with the Secretary-General’s vision for UN 2.0, demonstrating a profound commitment to leveraging technological innovation for the organization’s goals.
She holds a Master of Science in Information Management Engineering, a Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Software Engineering.
