Biography

Born in 1967, Ms. Miho Watanabe holds a B. A law degree from Waseda University (Tokyo), and an MPS in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University (NY). She started her career in the private sector while also becoming involved inthe promotion of CEDAW in Japan. Since 2003, she assumes position of a researcher in the Office of Research and International Relations at the National Women’s Education Center of Japan (NWEC). Her current role includes researching women’s careers, e-learning,g and gender statistics. She also conducts international programs on trafficking in the ASEAN region. She has been teaching women’s careers and gender in college and universities. Her published articles and reports as an NWEC researcher include topics on women’s lifelong education, gender statistics, and gender mainstreaming in universities.
