Dr. LEE, who holds a doctorate in literature from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, is a celebrated poet known in the literary world. Drawing upon her expertise, she delved into Japanese colonial archives, including the rulings penned in Japanese by the Government-General of Joseon and confidential documents, to shed light on the experiences of female independence activists who have long been overlooked and marginalized.
Dr. LEE’s prolific literary contributions span over 20 books dedicated to female independence activists. Among her notable works is “Finding the Footsteps of 46 Female Independence Activists,” which meticulously traces the journeys and endeavors of these women across Japan, China, Russia, Hawaii, USA, and Korea, illuminating their significant roles beyond geographical borders.
