Soon-Deok, MOON was born in Jeju in 1961 and currently is President of Jeju Women and Family Research Institute (JWFRI). Over the past 30 years, she studied Jeju's dialect, folklore, women's culture and life culture, as well as cultural and women's policy. Her major books include 『The Lifetime Rituals and Languages of Jeju Women』 (2013), 『The Taste and Style of the Jeju dialect』 (2014), and 『Jeju Women's Culture and Future Cultural Heritage』 (2021). She has set the vision of JWFRI as 'Women and Family policy platform leading to a respectful and inclusive society.' She is trying to achieve the mission of JWFRI, 'Jeju, a city of gender equality where people are happy'.
