Professor Sung jin KIM received a doctoral degree in the field of information security from the School of Computing at KAIST and is currently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering at Cheju Halla University and as the director of the Future Culture Research Center. Previously, he worked at security companies such as LG CNS and AhnLab for more than 20 years.
The main research field is AI security, and the focus was on detection/analysis research by applying AI technology to study on detecting malware spread through the web. Recently, in addition to AI security, he is interested in AI application technologies in the fields of motion capture, metahumans, voice cloning, and deepfake. He mainly teaches AI security and artificial intelligence technology and is also interested in teaching AI ethics.
He worked as a member of the public enterprise exam preparation committee and served as a member of the Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Regional Informatization Promotion Council. He also received the Best Technology Award in AI-based malware detection from the Electronic Engineering Society of Korea.
