YOON Yooshik

Biography

Professor YOON Yoosik is currently a professor at the School of Hotel & Tourism Management and the Department of Hospitality Management at Kyung Hee University. He earned his master's and doctoral degrees in Tourism Management from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in the United States.
His main research interests include Tourism/MICE Destination Marketing, Regional Tourism Development, and Data/Tourism Market Analysis. He has served as the president of the Korea MICE Tourism Association and currently serves as the director of the Tourism MICE City Marketing Research Center, where he conducts various research and advisory tasks related to tourism and MICE fields. He participates in policy deliberations and consultations for government agencies such as the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, and has collaborated with various organizations such as the Korea Tourism Organization, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, and Daejeon Convention & Visitors Bureau on various projects.
He has also formulated basic and medium- to long-term strategic research projects for tourism and MICE development in various regions including Daejeon, Gyeonggi Province, Chungbuk, Daegu, Ulsan, Pyeongchang, Gangneung, Yeosu, Gwangju, and Jeju. He has been involved in major MICE-related policy formulation and deliberations for international conference complexes and regional specialized conventions. Recently, he has been conducting research on promoting pet-friendly tourism destinations through policy formulation, evaluation, and discussions to enhance regional tourism activities, particularly focusing on nighttime tourism and pet-friendly tourism initiatives.
