Biography

Chang-Wee LEE (PhD in International Law at Keio University, Japan, 1992) is Professor of International Law at the School of Law, University of Seoul, Korea. He is former president of the Korean Branch of the ILA and former president of the Korean Association of the Law of the Sea. His research currently focuses on the Law of the Sea, territoriality issues of Korea, and International Human Rights Law. He has published many books and articles, including The North Korean Nuclear Crisis and Its Implications for South Korea’s Policy Choice (2020), The EEZ Regime in Northeast Asia: Legal Status of the EEZ and Military Activities in the EEZ (2016), Legal and Political Aspects of the Dokdo Issue: Interrelationship between International Law and International Relations (2013) and Territorial Disputes in Northeast Asia and Relevant Korean Policy (2006) etc.
