Biography

Professor Scott Baum obtained his Ph.D. From the Flinders University of South Australia in 1995. Trained in Sociology and Economics, Professor Baum has held both research and teaching positions at James Cook University, Queensland Institute of Technology, the University of Queensland, and Griffith University. He has published widely in the area of social inequality, labor markets, and, more recently,y in the area of climate change and has attracted in excess of $11 million AUD in competitive grant funding. In his current position as Professor of Urban and Regional Analysis, he has teaching responsibilities for Research Methodology and is currently Graduate Student Convener in the School of Environment. He has consulted for the Australian, Queensland,d and South Australian Governments as well as the United Kingdom Department for International Development and is an expert reviewer for the Australian Research Council, the Research Council of Hong Kong, and the Qatar Research Foundation.
