LEE Seung Seob

Biography

CEO Seung Seob LEE received a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the UC, Berkeley in 1995, served as a professor at Postech (1997-2003), and has been a professor at KAIST since 2003. His research field is MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical System), and he has over 130 SCI papers and over 120 patents. He served as the Dean of Students, Dean of Admissions, Dean of the Faculty Council, and Vice President for Academic Affairs at KAIST, and is currently a regular member of the National Academy of Engineering of Korea and a member of the Presidential Defense Innovation Committee. The laboratory venture A2US was established in 2022, and is recognized as the world's first and only technology that can mass produce water containing hydroxyl radicals without generating ozone. Hydroxyl radical is a natural substance that is harmless to the human body but is highly reactive, removes harmful chemicals, and has antibacterial and antiviral functions in the air and water. A2US is pursuing a variety of business areas, including home appliances such as humidifiers, air purifiers, and water purifiers, as well as smart farms, post-harvest crops, and alternative pesticides.
