Dai-Yeun Jeong obtained his BA and MA degrees in sociology from Korea University (South Korea), and Ph.D in environmental sociology (Australia). He was a professor of sociology at Jeju National University (South Korea) from 1981 to February 2012, and served as a teaching professor at the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom) in 2000, the president of the Asia-Pacific Sociological Association from 2002 to 2004, and a delegate of the South Korean Government to the UNFCCC from 2003 to 2004. He published 13 books, including Environmental Sociology.
