Biography
Professor Jong-in Lim is the representative expert in Cyber Security in Korea. He served as a special advisor to the president for national security in 2015. As the pioneer of information security in Korea, he started the field as a Cryptography expert, and now he is working as a cybersecurity policy expert. Currently, Professor Lim is a professor of the Graduate School of Information Security at Korea University, and is participating in many advisory works for the Korean government. He is working as the chairman of the Digital Forensic Advisory Committee under the Supreme Prosecutor’s Office, and the chairman of the Expert Group in the Financial Security Agency. Also, he was a former President of the Korea Institute of Information Security and Cryptography, and a member of the Personal Information Protection Commission under direct jurisdiction of the President. On the first ‘Day of Information Security’ in 2012, Korea government awarded him the Order of Merit by the President, for his contribution to the Information Security Field in Korea. Recently professor Lim founded the World’s first ‘Department of Cyber Defense’, to train the future Cyber Warriors to defend the National Cyber Security.
