Biography

Datuk Lim Juay Jin arrived in Seoul in August 2022 to assume his assignment as the Ambassador of Malaysia in Seoul Republic of Korea. A career diplomat, he joined the Malaysian Foreign Service in 1992, as a Diplomatic and Administrative officer. He was later assigned to the ASEAN Malaysia National Secretariat. In 1994, he was posted abroad as the Second Secretary at the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand. In 1998, he returned to Malaysia to take up the position of Assistant Secretary at the Americas Division. He was then assigned as the Principal Assistant Secretary before moving as the Special Officers to the Minister of Housing and Local Government in 2003. He returned to the Malaysian Foreign Services as a Principal Assistant Secretary in the Africa and Sub Sahara Division before being posted as a Minister at the Malaysian Embassy in Beijing, People\'s Republic of China in 2007. He returned to Malaysia as the Director of the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations in 2011 before being posted as the High Commissioner of Malaysia to the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2014. Prior to his arrival in Seoul, he was the Ambassador of Malaysia in the Federal Republic of Brazil. Datuk Lim holds a Bachelors of Arts (Hons) in developments studies from the University of Malaya.
