Biography

Min Gu JOUNG served as the Head of Solidarity for Jeju Communities, a civil society organization based in Jeju, and was actively engaged in achieving participatory governance to tackle local issues faced by local residents after graduating from Jeju National University. From before being elected as a council member of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province until now, he has been consistently involved in a committee for the administrative system reform, the efforts to develop participatory governance in line with the local context, and a taskforce team for decentralization. Recognized for his outstanding legislative activities to achieve decentralization, he was given the top award in the category of innovation for local autonomy and decentralization in the 2019 Good Governance Award in Local Politics. Mr. JOUNG, as a re-elected council member, is committed to legislative activities to make grassroots governance implemented in Jeju
