Biography
Currently, as the Director of the Foreign-Assisted and Special Projects Service (FASPS) at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Central Office, Director Al O. Orolfo established the Knowledge Management Team and its full adoption of the system to ensure sustainability and replication of various Project Innovative Outcomes in policy and operational aspects. He leads the FASPS by aligning programs and projects with the global Sustainable Development Goals, Philippine Development Plan, and Environment Natural Resources (ENR) Framework. He actively engages with international development organizations and local partners to secure grants and technical assistance for vulnerable areas.
He achieved significant milestones, including creating Burias-Ticao Protected Seascape and the largest National Park in the Bicol Region and developing ecotourism initiatives. He has also been actively involved in various conservation efforts, co-authoring books and advocating for sustainable practices.
Director Orolgo’s educational background includes Agroforestry, a Master of Development Management with a Cognate on Environmental Studies, and a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Director Orolfo actively participates and leads as a socio-civic volunteer being a Rotarian, Chairman, and President of the oldest loans and savings association of the DENR employees.
