Hee-OK Lee currently serves as a Professor of Political Science and Diplomacy and Director of the Sungkyun Institute of China Studies at Sungkyunkwan University. In academia, he served as President of the Korean Association of Contemporary China Studies, vice president of the Korean Political Science Association and is vice president of Korea-China Friend Association. In China, he is a chair and professor at Jilin University, Tongji University University. He has published several books such as 「In search for New Chinese Socialism」 , 「In search for New Chinese Democracy」 , 「Study on Chinese Grand Strategy」 . He won the 2017 Academic Award from NEAR Foundation and the 2021 Special Book Awards of China.
