Biography

John Blaxland is Professor of International Security and Intelligence Studies in the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre (SDSC), Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs, College of Asia and the Pacific at the Australian National University (ANU). A former army officer, he has been a Chief Intelligence Staff Officer (J2), HQ Joint Operations Command, defence attaché to Thailand and Myanmar, Head of SDSC and Director ANU Southeast Asia Institute. He teaches “Honeypots and Overcoats: Australian Intelligence in the World” and the Geostrategic SWOT Analysis for Australia). He also speaks on security internationally and offers commentary with numerous news media including Arirang. His recent articles include
