Inaugurated as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Korea in 17 November 2021, Mr Gandi Sulistiyanto Soeherman is a self-made business magnate. In his early 20s, he joined Astra International Ltd, which was an established company in Indonesia by then.
Ambassador Sulis joined the Sinar Mas Group. Since 2001, he served as Managing Director of Sinar Mas Group, a brand of companies which manages seven business pillars, namely pulp and paper, agri-business and food, financial services, developer and real estate, communications and technology, energy and infrastructure, and healthcare. Prior to assuming his Ambassadorship, Mr Soeherman also served as President Commissary of Berau Energy Ltd and Smartfren Telecom Ltd. He currently serves, among others, as Advisory Council’s Member of Indonesian Employers Association/APINDO, Vice Chair of Prasetiya Mulya Foundation and Advisory Member of Indonesian Conference on Religion and Peace. Mr Soeherman holds a Bachelor’s degree from Tidar University in Magelang, Central Java Province. In 2011, he was enrolled in Advance Management Program, Harvard Business School, USA.
