Biography
김종현은 현재 사회적기업 섬이다의 대표이사를 맡고 있다. 섬이다는 제주의 가치를 실현하는 것을 추구하는 로컬푸드 F&B 회사이다. 김종현은 제주 출생으로, 서울대 종교학과를 졸업하고, 인터넷 비즈니스 기획자로 사회생활을 시작하였다. 2004년 대한민국의 대표적인 인터넷 포털인 Daum의 제주 이전을 기획하고 실행하였으며, 2009년에는 인터넷 게임 기업인 넥슨의 관계사들의 제주 이전을 기획하였다. 2015년에는 사회적기업 섬이다를 창업하였다. 2019년부터 2022년까지 제주더큰내일센터 센터장을 맡았다. 제주더큰내일센터는 매년 150명의 청년 인재들을 선발하여, 150만원 이상의 안정적인 소득보장, 프로젝트 기반의 혁신 교육, 지역 혁신 커뮤니티 형성을 통해, 청년일자리 문제를 해결하기 위해 제주도에서 설립한 기관이다.

In 2004, he planned and executed Daum's move to Jeju, which is one of the most prominent internet portals in South Korea. In 2009, he planned the relocation of Nexon Group's subsidiary companies in the internet gaming industry to Jeju. In 2015, he founded the social enterprise Sumida. From 2019 to 2022, he served as the head of the Jeju Greater Tomorrow Center. Jeju Greater Tomorrow Center is an institution established in Jeju to address youth employment issues by selecting 150 young talents every year and providing them with stable income of at least 1.5 million won, project-based innovative education, and formation of local innovative communities.
