Chaesung Chun is a Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Seoul National University. He is also a director of National Security Center of East Asian Institute(EAI). He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, ROK Army and Navy. He is now the chair of the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Unification. He was the President of the Korean Association of International Studies in 2021, a Director of Center for International Studies at Seoul National University, and a Vice President of the Institute of Peace and Unification Studies, Seoul National University. He was a visiting professor at Keio University in Tokyo from 2017-2018, and 2010-2011.
